Master of Labor and Employment Relations
Masters of Human Resource Management

Five-Year BA/Masters of Labor and Employment Relations Combined Degree Program

This program allows qualified students to complete both a bachelor of arts (BA) degree in labor studies and
employment relations, and a master of labor andemployment relations (MLER) degree in approximately five years of full-time study. Graduates have been successful in obtaining responsible positions in labor/nonprofit organizations, the public sector, and in corporations — in labor relations, human resources, health and safety, training, diversity/equal employment opportunity, and related fields.

Students who are labor studies majors and are accepted into the program:
  • May waive up to 9 credits of graduate work.
  • Are permitted to take two graduate courses in their senior year — these count toward the graduate degree if they are taken above the 120 credits needed for the bachelor's degree.
  • Thereby can complete the master's program in one year of full-time study or can expedite completion on a part-time basis.
