Rachel Grace
Rutgers MHRM Student
The primary reasons I chose the Rutgers MHRM program were the curriculum and convenience of the location. I started with the on-site Rutgers certificate program offered as a development opportunity to employees at Prudential Financial. After completing the certificate program, I decided to pursue a Master’s and matriculated as a MHRM student. My employer, Prudential Financial, has been very supportive of me, allowing me to utilize a flexible work schedule and providing tuition reimbursement, thereby enabling me to balance the demands of work and school.
The reputation of the Rutgers program was a strong motivator for me as well. The world-renowned faculty members are respected; they’re subject matter experts and thought leaders in the field. The classroom dynamics are interactive, with a variety of thought provoking discussion and dialogue. In addition, the diversity of the student body enhances the classroom experience by fostering the exploration of HR practices through a global lens.
The opportunity to mentor students in the program as they transition from academia into the HR workforce has enabled me to see the world of HR work through the diverse perspectives of those who are new to the field. This is just one example of how the combination of work and school creates a synergy that enhances learning and promotes practical application. I believe the opportunity for applied learning the chance to learn and grow as HR professionals together is one of the greatest strengths of the Rutgers MHRM program.
