Speaker for SMLR 2022 Convocation Announced

The Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) is proud to announce that Helen Crossen, ’99, ’00, ‘05, Managing Director, Onex, will serve as the school’s 2022 Convocation Speaker. Crossen will address the school’s more than 600 degree candidates and their families on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

In her role, Crossen is responsible for portfolio talent and contributes toward the efforts to identify, create, and drive value creation at the portfolio companies with a focus on talent and organizations. 

Crossen has more than 20 years of progressive human resource experience. Previously she was Chief Administrative Officer at Annaly Capital, the largest mortgage real estate investment trust on the NYSE: NLY.  She is also the founder and principal of Crosswyse, a human capital advisory and coaching firm.

As an HR Executive, Crossen has worked with CEOs, executives, and professionals to help them achieve strategic organizational objectives and excel professionally. Her experience includes working at IBM, General Electric, NBC Universal and providing human capital advisory services in the tech start-up space, as well as having clerked at the NFL and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). She currently serves on the board of the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York (CUNY).

Crossen holds a B.A., and M.A in Industrial Relations and Labor Relations from Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations and a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law.  She also obtained a professional certificate from the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP).

The 2022 Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations Convocation will take place at Jersey Mike’s Arena at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022, one day before Rutgers University Commencement at SHI Stadium.
