Jie (Jasmine) Feng received her Ph.D. from the Department of Management and Human Resources at the Wisconsin School of Business. Her primary research interests include strategic human resource management (HRM), employee turnover, career mobility, and compensation. She is particularly interested in how these areas shape, and are shaped by, individuals in strategic leadership roles, such as corporate executives and board directors, as well as those with entrepreneurial experience or aspirations, such as former and future entrepreneurs.

Feng's research has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Psychological Bulletin, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, and other leading journals. Her collaborative research has received the Schmidt-Hunter Meta-Analysis Award and the Joyce and Robert Hogan Award for Personality and Work Performance from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). Her work has also been featured in media outlets including Fortune, Harvard Business Review, HuffPost, Inc., and NBC News.

Feng currently serves as an associate editor for Management and Organization Review, the flagship journal of the International Association for Chinese Management Research. From 2023 to 2026, she served as an associate editor of Applied Psychology: An International Review, the official journal of the International Association of Applied Psychology. She also serves on multiple editorial boards, including those of the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and Human Resource Management.

Feng has taught courses in strategic HRM, compensation, strategic staffing, and related areas at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. She has received the “Thank an Instructor” recognition at Rutgers University and a Distinguished Teaching Award from the Wisconsin School of Business.

Feng values opportunities to collaborate with business partners and practitioners to bridge the gap between management research and practice. She has been involved in projects with organizations and startups both locally in New Jersey and around the world across industries including ridesharing, financial services, technology, and consulting.
