Stephen Adams

Stephen Adams,the Robert W. Smiley Jr. Economic History Fellow, who is conducting a  historical case study of a major corporation with a significant employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). He is an associate professor of management at the University of Maryland System’s Salisbury University Franklin P. Perdue School of Business with a doctorate in history from The Johns Hopkins University.



The 2010-2011 Fellow

Jefferson Decker

Jefferson Decker was the 2010–11 Smiley Economic History Fellow. He is an ACLS/Mellon New Faculty Fellow in the Departments of American Studies and Political Science at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Formerly, he was a lecturer and Herzog Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University in the Department of History. Decker is studying the political history of investment culture and retirement security in the United States during the 1981–2000 bull market inequities.
